Harry's Box

Recently I decided to pamper myself by signing up for the Harry's shaving box.

I, unfortunately, replace my razors very rarely and normally just wind up buying a whole new razor instead of blades every 6 to 12 months. (eep!) After a bit of nicking and razor burn, and a reminder from my wife of my scruffiness, I decided to do a little research and found out about Harry's.

The Harry's box is awesome. There are several different levels of the box to try and I got the cheapest (Truman) set. It provides you with a Razor in one of three colors (I got the blue) and a total of three heads. You also get shaving lotion, a welcome card and a shaving guide.

By far the smoothest shave I've ever had, they have earned a subscriber in me!

Ranking is 1100! Bonus - Other game reviews!

Again, League has dominated the majority of my free time that I spend gaming.

Not that this is not a bad thing, but it does put me at odds with delivering on other games updates. I strive to give my input on a variety of games, so that anyone might find something of interest here.

There are 4 games other than League currently on my radar.

First up is Audition.

This game is pretty ridiculously awesome. It's keyboard Dance Dance Revolution with some pretty fantastic tracks including some current hip-hop and pop tunes. While I don't normally listen to that music, it does make for a fun dance experience.

I cannot say enough good about this game. From the companion system to being able to make your own choices that change how NPC's treat you, this game is innovative and fun, and has me rolling alternate characters because I want to learn all the stories and feel out all the move sets. Definitely a great game worth checking out.

A game I will always have a secret love affair with is Maple Story

This game just went through some massive updates making it more friendly and fun than ever.

I dont think I can stop playing this game for very long, it always pulls me back in with it's sidescrolling goodness and the fact that you feel transported back in time to when games were good and you sat in front of your TV with that SNES controller in hand.

On a final note, Dota 2 is awesome.

I cant say much about it, but I eagerly await the full launch.

In League related news, I really need to start watching the tournaments. Every time I sit down to watch, within 5 minutes I want to play myself and close my stream...sounds like I need to get a second monitor. Maybe I will this tax return season.

I have found that I have been playing so much support I was neglecting my other champion options. Nasus was always a really cool champion, in my opinion, as he wields a badass polearm and has some great voice acting/quotes. See the win below with him!

Here are some of my wins for the week, I'm climbing in rank!

Gotta give another shout out to Selvanis and now Jobraham for being in some of my wins this week. Good games men.

Feel free to add me if you'd like a support, carry, top, jungle, or whatever your team might need.

No update atm on the stream, however, due to technical difficulties.

On a side note, I may start to play ranked 5's if I can find the time to schedule the games.

So long for now.

League and SW:ToR with Dubstep!

Hey all, I'm back again with another update!

The league bug has really bitten me and I've been getting back in the swing of things, I'm still working out technical difficulties with my stream, but I should have it up and running soon.

Stream disappointments aside, I've been still sitting right around 1k ranking in league, but have pushed above the 1k mark, and look forward to being at 1100 soon.

I'll have some wins/losses at the bottom, check out the Soraka ones...I'm particularly proud of them. A good judge of your support is that their assists are at least half of the total kills on the team. In addition their deaths should be less than a quarter of the other teams total kills. You get more leniency against deaths than other players because you will be focused if you are playing well enough to garner that many assists. The other team knows that in order to win in team fights, they have to kill you.

I've also been really into Star Wars: The Old Republic. Maybe not quite as much as I should be, with all the League I've been focusing on, but it still strikes me as a beautiful and well crafted game.

I've been playing just about every alt you can think of, and I still cannot figure out my favorite class. Currently I'm working on a Sith Sorcerer. I love the spell casting in this game!

One thing I really appreciate with SW:ToR is that they have a beautiful space combat system. It's an "On-Rails" system, so you have a set path your ship flies, but space itself is beautiful and it feels like a throwback to the old Star Wars space games.

Two more things before the spam of League related wins/losses, first on youtube.com there is a user named ZeroVWXYZ who has an amazing collection of "Dubstep Music To Play *League of Legends Character*". I was blow away by how amazingly crafted this users selection of music was. He perfectly fit the music to the character that was featured. If you like Dubstep/Techno and need some good music to play League to, check it out.

Secondly, a shout out to Selvanis who's featured in a number of these games, including the amazing Caitlyn in one of my best matches yet. If anyone wants to friend me and get some games in, by all means, drop me a request.

So long for now.

League of Legends

Lately I've been playing a lot of League of Legends. Now I'm not fantastic at this game, my goal is to get to the top of the bracket system, or at least out of Elo Hell, as it's been dubbed.

For those of you who don't know what Elo Hell is, Elo is a rating system first used in chess. The Elo system is basically a made up number that represents how much better or worse than you are vs another player. You get more points for beating a higher ranked player than a lower ranked. Elo Hell is the point at which you are trading your wins for losses nearly 1:1 or winning a few, then losing even more. A lot of players experience this.

I will also be soon getting a stream (as long as it's approved) on own3d.tv which I am super excited about. Look forward to live games there!

Anyways, you don't read this to hear me complain, so here are some screenshots of my games yesterday! A few wins and a loss.

Have any favorite champions or characters you'd like to see me play?

Dream Gaming Accessories

I know I haven't posted in awhile, but I was absolutely inspired when my girlfriend got me an amazing headset for Christmas.  The sound quality is fantastic, and my friends say that they can hear me clearer than ever.

This headset inspired me to come up with a list of other accessories that I'd love to have for those long gaming sessions.

Dream Gaming Accessories

1:  $70, 2:  $165, 3:  $88, 4:  $149, 5:  $80
I would love to have these items in my gaming arsenal, are there any favorites that you have?

Why I Can't Seem To Give Up WoW, Maple Story and Gaming Music

Hi everyone, it's been a while since my last post, just a busy transition in employment. But absolutely one for the better.

I had a dream last night about secretly paying for my World of Warcraft subscription again and starting to play when my girlfriend wasn't looking. I actually woke up this morning feeling a little guilty as I went to boot up my computer and play, only to realize once I tried to log in that the whole thing was a dream. I know it's silly, but for some reason I never stay away from that game for too long.

I think the problem with my WoW addiction is that I have so much time and memories invested in that game. I met some of my best friends when the game first came out, I've put years into that game (somewhere around 375 actual days worth of time logged).

No other game seems to quite match up, which is strange because the graphics aren't all that great, the game-play is no longer dynamic, and it's full of jerks who like to mess with other players (and I'm not just talking lowbie ganking).

I also wanted to give a shout out to Maple Story, because that game just keeps getting better and better. They have so many classes to choose from now, all at least a bit different from another. Currently playing a "Mechanic" and I basically drive around in a giant robot demolishing things.

PS. that was my first attempt at making a video/uploading it, so I hope it turned out well and you enjoyed it!

A side note to that video is that the music that was included is not the actual music from the game. That music was a remix of a Final Fantasy 7 song called Full Frontal Assault (Let the Battles Begin!) by norg and SnappleMan from ocremix.org. OC-Remix stands for OverClocked ReMix and is a website where users can upload and download remixed video game music from just about any game. The song I showcased in there is part of a large collection of Final Fantasy 7 remixes called Voices of the Lifestream. Click Here if you want to download for yourself!

That's all from me today.

Good luck and happy gaming!

Hiatus - Cataclysm (slight spoilers) and various other games

Hey everyone, It's been a while but for good reason!

Well maybe not... I sort of got sucked into a lot of games at once and put my blogging on hold. ANYWAYS. To the games I was playing and how awesome they are.

First off was playing the new WoW expansion. Took a few days off from work (That's dedication!) and hit 85 on my main, still a druid, but is now a Troll(olololol).

The picture below is me in my completely awesome troll cat-form. Pretty epic, I know.

This expansion feels great. Almost a "back to basics" if you will. The heroics don't throw epic level gear at you, you have to actually think (which is pretty shocking to most people just hitting 85) and they have some pretty amazing quest chains especially in Twilight Highlands.

I have also created a character of both new races (worgen and goblin) so that I could check our their starting areas. So far I vastly prefer the worgen. You are in a Victorian era-esque town, plagued by werewolves. Pretty awesome.

The goblin area starts as a thriving, polluted, roadway filled gangster paradise. I'm thinking America. Anyways, that goes downhill pretty fast as the island "paradise" you're living on erupts into a violent volcano.

Speaking of WoW, I also want to say something about their real ID system. I think it's amazing. The ability to give your real life friends access to you regardless of your race/faction/server or even game that you're playing (as long as it's a Blizzard game) is pretty fantastic. The only think I would like to see Blizzard implement is  an "appear offline" feature. I have a friend who hates his other friends, and doesn't like it when they see him online all the time, so the ability to block other people from seeing you would be pretty nice.

In other gaming news, Maple Story had a HUGE update, in which they added 2 new classes (One I'm in love with...Battle Mage :] ) and greatly increased the experience you gain. The game (for me) started to drag around level 50 because of the sheer ammount of monsters you had to kill in order to gain a level. The recent update takes a HUGE step in the right direction allowing you to enjoy more of the game, with less of the mindless grinding/questing (which normally involved a fantastic goal of "Kill 1,000 of these monsters").

As it stands now, I'm having a pretty hard time deciding which characters to play, my girlfriend and I have quite a few of them. I can see myself sinking a legit amount of time into this game as well.

And for this, I'll do a greater post later, but I was just giving an AMAZING mega-man game from my girlfriend for Christmas. Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker x Ninja . Yea, it's a mouth full. I link the gamespot link because, quite frankly, I think they are completely wrong in their review. This game, at least to me, is a fun-fresh new take on megaman. While yes, it's not side scrolling with the 9 bosses you pick which level you go to, I think it's pretty amazing. It's an adventure game, in which you play a human who can fuse with an electronic "spirit" to become megaman. The battle sequences are fun, you fight enemies by attacking them and dodging their attacks in a third person platform.

You use a "deck" of cards to select your attacks from, using either ranged weapons, weapon boosters, or melee attacks. Needless to say, I'm not incredibly far in at this point, but I love what I've played so far.

Anyways, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays and I hope to be back to posting regularly before long!
